Review

I bought this black wireless controller so I could have another wireless controller. Be advised when reading reviews on this product that it appears some people are reviewing the Xbox 360 Silver Controller and Play & Charge Kit, which is a special controller that is different (and more expensive as of this writing) than the black controller I am reviewing. This controller does NOT have any chrome items on it (other than the usual Xbox Guide button), nor does it have any upgrades to the D-pad.

As far as the controller itself, I didn't notice any structural difference between this controller and my old white controller that came with my Pro 20GB Xbox 360 several years ago. I did notice, however, that this controller properly charges my Play & Charge Kit where my old one did not. Prior to buying this controller, my Play & Charge kit would always show the red light while recharging. Since the recharging appeared to work anyway, I didn't think much of it (especially after calling Microsoft and being informed that the warranty on accessories is only 90 days, though that was in 2008). Since I assumed that the battery was at fault the whole time, I was surprised to find out that this controller charged the battery and (correctly) showed a green light when charging was complete.

Though it did not appear to be a structural change to the controller, I had somewhat forgotten (or not realized?) how much wear my controller has taken over the four years (give or take) since I got my console. The new controller gives me a bit more precision in games, especially with the right stick and the pushing of the sticks (for activities like sprinting). The tactility of the sticks (with little raised lines for grip) were a nice reminder of what my controller seemed to have at one time.

This was a satisfying purchase for functionality and the nice sleek look of black. I should also note that while the description of the item is "Glossy Black," this controller isn't really what I would call glossy like you would call the bezel of an LCD monitor or clear coat on a car. It gives off very little gloss in my opinion, which is fine by me.

I read so many reviews based on specs and stats and blah blah. For me as a live streamer on Twitch.tv I need two things for long gaming sessions headset wise: Comfort and Quality.

These are by far the most comfortable headset I have ever worn. The design is sleek and it is WELL made. Most headsets nowadays come with leatherette ear cups and I CAN'T STAND IT. So I was happy to see the HyperX Cloud had replaceable Velour Ear Cushions. (the cloth ones) That was a huge plus for me.

The soft leather band on the headset makes your skull feel like you are in HEAVEN. Too many headset makers don't care much for the pressure a headset puts on your noggin. HyperX does. I have had these 2 months prior to the recent release and not one sign of wear, and trust me I have a HUGE head.

Now for sound. 53MM Drivers. This is better then most out there. And it is obvious in the sound. I play World of Warcraft and other MMO's, and let me tell you the sounds I can now hear that I couldn't before. The sound is so much clearer you wonder how the hell you tolerated your previous headset.

The Aluminum build gives the Cloud a great shape and shows that HyperX cares about the longevity of their products.

If you want comfort and quality sound this is your headset. And at $99? Yeah it's worth it.

As a long time Microsoft supporter and someone who has never really liked the PS3, I felt it necessary to post this.

I picked up the new DS4 controller last night for the upcoming PS4, and I have to say I am blown away at how much better they made this controller.

Everything about this controller feels better than the old DS3 and prior units. The joysticks are farther apart and actually have resistance for more precise movements.

The grips are elongated and this makes the controller fit much better in my bigger hands.

It is not heavy in the hand, so while using it I forget I am holding it. The movements feel more like second nature rather than thinking about which button to press.

I knew awhile back I was not getting the Xbox One and I had hitched my wagon to the PS4 train. This just makes that decision all the more grand.

This DS4 is the best controller I have used on any system to date. Will it beat the new Xbox One? Not sure, but I would have to say maybe. Even if it didn't I would say it won't matter, Microsoft lost my money this time around.

I could rant and rave about this game for hours. It seems like WB Games and Monolith came together in sweet harmony and created a game that seamlessly integrates everything you'll love about an open world with a great story and meaningful RPG progression. You are well rewarded for going after tougher enemies. The nemesis system works better than I thought possible. So far, the LOTR lore is spot on and Uruk society is just as you would expect.

The introduction/prologue ties in perfectly with the campaign and teaches you how to play without feeling like a meaningless tutorial. I felt connected with the characters almost immediately which makes their murders gut wrenching even though you know it's going to happen.

Combat difficulty is adjustable so if you feel like the game is giving you too much of an advantage (by telling you when you can block an incoming strike) you can turn off combat prompts.

Over all, I'd give this game a 98/100. There were a couple of graphical glitches that were more funny than anything; they did not affect gameplay at all. This is my Game of the Year for sure.

1st thing, the gameplay was amazingly fun, especially the campaign, adjusting your armies abilities, and kerrigans abilities, boss fights, level designs were all amazing. And multiplayer is still very good, many mechanics really encourage immediate fighting rather than stand stills for like 15-20 minutes of nothign happening.

Now the dialogue.. This is where I begin to criticize. Remember the SC1 Breifings? Personally I would always sit and listen to each and every one, because characters had something interesting to say. Now in SC2+hots i just skim over the dialogue. NOBODY has anything interesting to say. The writer's of SC2 seem to have a much smaller vocabulary. Yeah remember when Kerrigan had a sense of humor, and that she was always making some sarcastic remark? Rarely any witty comments from the "Queen #*

The Turtle Beach Ear Force P12 Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset is compatible with Playstation 4, PS Vita and any pretty much any mobile device. I don't have a PS Vita to test it but I can confirm that it works great with both Playstation 4 and my iPad 2. I also own a Playstation 3 and figured it would work with it as well but it does not at all. So if you are looking for a headset for use with the Playstation 3 then you will need to find a different model.

This headset has a regular 3.5 mm audio cable for connecting it to mobile phone and tablets. Then it has a long USB cable with amplifier, microphone adjustment, volume adjustment and bass boost control. The audio cable connects to the USB cable when using it with your Playstation 4. It's pretty cool that you can use one headset on both types of devices.

The sound quality of this headset sounds crystal clear and has truly impressed me. In a gaming headset I don't expect it to have a good enough listening quality to listen to music as well. These actually sound really great when listening to music through them. They are truly multi-purpose the only bad thing is that everyone around you can hear the music. Someone sitting beside you can hear music, game sounds and chat talk just like they had the headset on themselves. I wish they were more sound proof so they didn't disturb others. Regardless of whether you are playing a game, chatting or listening to music, others don't want to hear every word.

This headset is also a little more comfortable to wear than some of the others that I have used. Some of them give me a really bad headache after a while of use because they squeeze my head. This one sits securely on my head but isn't quite as tights. The headset is fully adjustable so others can hear you well at all times.

I will say that this headset is a really good choice for someone that wants a quality Playstation 4 / Mobile device headset but doesn't require it to be wireless. Most of the similar wireless headsets cost a lot more and this headset is very competitively priced. The only thing I would like is for them to be more sound proof and it would also be nice to have some type of storage bag or case so it remains in good condition.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

Review

I've been a Sim gamer from the very beginning and have followed it the whole time. Rather than write a real review, I'm just going to give you my impressions. Do with them what you will.

- **First and foremost, the game seems completely pointless**. I really don't understand what we're supposed to get out of this game that is so new and unique. Emotions? Yea...i guess those are interesting, but they really play less of a part than I expected. They're treated as an afterthought and more of an animated reflection of a character's mood than anything. It does change some actions every now and then, but since your moods/emotions are constantly changing...the whole thing comes off messy. Better hurry up and use that special action before your mood changes!!...oops, too late. Or, your emotions prevent you from doing something you want/need to do. Other than emotions, there is really nothing "new" that is overly significant as far as actual gameplay goes.

- The game has reverted back to it's older style of gameplay. The Sims 3 was a step forward with it's open world, creative tools, vibrant graphics...all gone. This looks, feels, and plays like an up-scaled version of Sims 2. Menus between traveling, very limited spots to travel to, no cars, no walks around town or to the beach, no clickable world map, no jobs to follow Sims to, no story progression...nothing. Your existence is so lonely in Sims 4...and dull. There isn't even a "town" to speak of really, just neighborhoods. Again, I have no idea what it is we're supposed to be so excited about? The new create-a-Sim is pretty cool...but...unless you want to create an amazing looking sim (which is hard with the clothing choices at the moment) and do NOTHING with them...you're going to be disappointed. This feels very much like it started out as a mobile game.

- Creativity is almost non-existent. Okay, so you can't make everything any color or pattern you want. That's fine, I guess. But it goes way beyond that. The choice you have for items is terrible. Sure, SOME items might have an extensive choice of colors, but most of the time its a multicolored combination. For example, if I wanted something in white/brown because one of those colors matches my interior...and it's not available...too bad. You'll have to choose the white/black combination instead. The choices in general feel like a bad beta test. **Try as you want, in this game your house can NEVER be exactly the way you want.** Let that sink in for a minute. At least 50% of sims gaming is designing a home for your sim.

- Remember how they kept saying how "smart" sims were going to be? Yea, they're not. My Sim wasn't smart enough to stop typing on the computer long enough to go to the bathroom. Does that sound "smart" to you? Are we really still dealing with autonomy like that 4 generations in? Yes, they can multitask SOMETIMES (the one noticeable improvement), but half the time you don't even know exactly what they're doing. My Sim was at the club and I had her go to talk to someone at the bar. She goes BEHIND the bar, and starts talking to the entire group. When i had her order a drink, she continued to stand there talking, and not even to the person I requested. I would think having smarter sims wouldn't require me to make essential choices for them, but it does pretty often. I also expected some of these "smarter" sims to be able to complete some of their "wants" on their own. They rarely do.

- Shoddy Programming, glitches, and pathway problems. Thats right, in addition to the terrible controls, pathways are STILL a problem.

- I'm not happy this game is a failure thus far. In fact, I'm HEARTBROKEN. But, yes, that's how bad it is. I understand that some people like the game. I don't know why, but thats fine. Regardless, I feel like that is part of the problem. This game reflects the attitude of "You'll buy it anyway" and i cant stand that. This has such a huge following and is such a cash flow for EA that they don't even have to try. Here is a vastly inferior base game that will end up costing you hundreds more if you want to *really experience* and have fun with it. I say enough is enough. For $70, I expect something worth my time from the BEGINNING.

- I really could go on...but I'm not because I know many others will. Here is the bottom line, this is not a brand new game. This is a rehash of a time in Sims history that I thought had been left behind. This is step back. EA needs to decide if they want to make a cartoony time waster or a legitimate realistic life simulator. (Even something in between would be nice) They've had 14 years to get it right. Instead, it's just getting worse...and more expensive.

Review

I played through the original Diablo 3 game and just finished the expansion. The original game was riddled with problems and many people were angry about it. Over the last year or so, Blizzard did a great job LISTENING to the people that play Diablo 3 and the game has completely turned around since then!

Things fixed in original Diablo 3 game through patches (you paid for these when you bought the ORIGINAL game, not the expansion):

-No more auction house!

-Items drop for your character (stats you need)

-Improved legendary drop

-Legendary drops have fun attributes

-Increased customization ability (no more being stuck to one build for your class)

-Reduced reliance on magic find to get legendary drops

These changes were all great and the gameplay is vastly improved with them.

However, that is all with the original game.

For the expansion, you get:

-1 new playable class (crusader)

-1 new act for the campaign (act 5) including 3 new boss fights that is roughly 2-3 hours depending on difficulty and how thorough you are

-Adventure mode

-New skills for your character (some of which are very fun)

-New loot

So when you separate the changes for the old game versus the new stuff from the expansion, it looks a little different. In terms of amount of content, the expansion seems more like a small DLC package than an actual expansion.

Story: 2/5

It's good but it is "few and far between." You get fed a tiny piece of story now and then, but most of the time you spend grinding on the gigantic maps trying to get to the next area. What little story there was, it was interesting. But there was not nearly enough to denote a 40 dollar price tag. In short, 3 new boss fights and just a bunch of grinding in between. They threw in some mini side quests but I don't think they add much to the game. They even reused some of the old models for monsters from the original game. The campaign just felt rushed in terms of story and more created for long term grinding playability. Would not recommend for the story.

Gameplay: 4/5

It's much better, but once again, it was better in the original game too after all the updates! The new act is full of big levels and lots of monsters, so if you love running around, killing things, and finding loot, it's perfect. It can be too big and a bit monotonous at times though for the average gamer.

Adventure mode is just trying to give you a carrot on a stick to replay old quests and give you a goal while you grind. It is nothing special. You just might get a prize for doing the same thing you were going to do anyways.

TL;DR - A 20 dollar game with a 40 dollar price tag. The new content is minimal, considering you get 1/4 of the story content of the original game for 2/3 the price of it. This expansion is definitely set up for the hardcore fans who just like to run around killing things aimlessly and hoping for loot. If you are playing it for any other reason than that (STORY), you can skip this title until it's cheaper.

Review

Let me start by saying that this game is tough. In the first chapter, I died about 10 times before finally seeing the opening credits roll. For me, this is not a bad thing as I like a challenge.

I also love survival horror. This game, which is Shinji Mikami masterpiece, shines in all areas to me. While the framerate is 30 FPS and the game is presented in letterbox format (which could put off some), I believe it was created this way to reflect a horror film feel to it. I get that rustic original Resident Evil vibe while still getting the gameplay of Resident Evil 4, which is Mikami's defining game in my opinion. Mikami is the father to the Resident Evil series and also served as a producer on other hits such as the Devil May Cry series and Viewtiful Joe series. This guy knows how to make/produce great games.

Getting back to The Evil Within, the gameplay again has that old school survival horror vibe to it. You will die multiple times. However, the locations that this game takes you through in it's 20+ hour campaign is ripped straight from the best horror flicks. From mental hospitals, wooded forests with dilapidated cabins in the still of the night, to haunted mansions; it's all here. If you love horror flicks and have been waiting on a game to love, buy this. Another throwback is how the game is divided into Chapters, 15 actually, which reminds me of games from yesteryear although being on next gen systems.

I have read reviews that speak on the graphics and texture pop ins. I am playing on the PS4 and have not noticed any pop in. Maybe I am just lucky. And yes, I am that person who stands on the edge of the pier in Chapter 2, marveling at the water effects and lighting of the moon reflecting from the lake while viewing the dark abandoned lighthouse across the sprawl. I love graphics and I take my time in games to enjoy what the developer worked hard to achieve. To me personally, they nailed it with The Evil Within. So while it may take me 30+ hours to beat the game because I tend to stand around and spin the camera to enjoy the views, it may only take the average person 20+ hours as stated above.

Next up, the monsters. Again, this game doesn't disappoint. It is clear that Silent Hill characters influenced some of the monstrosities in The Evil Within. Although, I would be remissed if I didn't say that Resident Evil shows up with the character design as well. You have your butcher that is listening to classical music as he is butchering up a human body right in front of you, to the chainsaw wielding maniac that bashes through doors chasing you relentlessly.

Again, this game is tough. If you have never played a Survival Horror Game and are new to the genre, I suggest playing on the easiest mode starting out or you may get frustrated. Ammo and Syringes are limited, both needed to stay alive, so don't expect to shoot at everything you see. This game plays great for the stealth gamers out there as well. You need strategy to complete chapters....and patience.

The only fault I can say about this game is the story. While it is not really a fault, it can be convuluted and a bit disjointed at times. It isn't that it is bad, it just skips around alot. I would tell you more on that but that would be spoiling the game for you if you intend to buy.

All in all, The Evil Within is exactly what I have been needing for my Survival Horror fix. It has all the elements. Locales, Monsters, Graphics, Tension, Great Pacing and Gore. While the story is a bit all over (until you get it), it is not enough to bring this game down a notch. Great timing for the release as well, as it is the perfect time of year for this game's atmosphere.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

Review

Though your Xbox One controller runs on AA batteries and includes one pair of them, it's so much nicer to have the Play and Charge Kit rather than burning through costly AA batteries. Even rechargeable AA batteries aren't as good, they don't last quite as long per discharge, and you have to remove them to recharge them. It's much easier to just plug in the charging cable when your juice is low.

These rechargeable batteries seem a little smaller than the Xbox 360 ones, but worked great all through my Xbox One's launch night. The only very minor downside is it takes a few seconds longer to swap these batteries out than it did to swap out an Xbox 360 battery, but I like the tradeoff of having the Xbox One controller be slimmer and sleeker since there isn't a big battery jutting out the back. The swap time doesn't really matter anyway since you use the cable to recharge it, where on the 360 I usually swapped one out of my Quick Charge kit (Microsoft hasn't yet released a similar product for the Xbox One yet).

The charging cable is sufficiently long to play from my couch (8 feet away from my TV). Took an hour or so for the initial charging to finish from whatever capacity percentage these come from the factory. Don't bother with the third-party junk batteries. While the cable is just a basic micro USB and interchangeable, off-brand rechargeable batteries are rarely worth bothering with for the small difference in price. The cable itself seems pretty high quality too though, it snaps in and has a very solid connection, which I like.

My only complaint isn't about this product, but about the Xbox One design. The single USB port is on the console's left side instead of how the Xbox 360 has two ports on the front. This makes it not reach quite as far, and is also more risky in the event of someone tripping over the cable. Instead of it just yanking out, it might tug the cord in a bad way and damage the cable or the USB port.

I recommend buying the bundle with the controller for a $10 discount though ($75 instead of $60+$25=$85), unless you only ever plan on having one controller I suppose. Amazon is sold out of those at the time of this review, but my local Best Buy and Walmart still had stacks of them, so you may want to try a local store.

Update 2013.11.24: I've gotten at least about 20 hours of on-time without the battery dying since I got my Xbox One. I didn't go until it died before plugging in the cable, but it seems to have about as much life in it as the old Xbox 360 rechargeables. Maybe even a little bit more since all my 360 ones are aging and gradually losing their charge, though this one will probably do the same over time.
